I don't do many bowls and haven't done one this shape for a few years but I wanted to do a piece using the same texturing technique as my releaf series.
It is a very simple form because I wanted the textured surface to dominate and I think it worked out ok.
The underside has texturing on about a third of the surface. The bowl has no foot and sits on a very small flat spot.
This piece received 2nd prize in Woodturning Decorated bowls at the Franklin Art Festival June 2008.
